DESCRIPTION

The Ford US Database covers 4000 common stocks with over 100 fundamental and technical data items on each company. Data is updated weekly from original sources and/or publicly available data. Ford adjusts data to eliminate non-recurring factors, converts raw data to ratios for analysis, and provides proprietary valuation results.

FEATURES

Six major market averages are covered by Ford: the S&P 500, MidCap 400, SmallCap 600, Dow Jones Industrials, the Russell 1000 and the Russell 2000. Exchange listings include 1919 companies on the NYSE, 1858 on the NASDAQ, and 206 on the AMEX. The US current data also include 88 foreign companies that are traded on US exchanges and 17 companies traded on Canadian Exchanges.

Ford's analysts collect earnings releases daily from the press, companies and other sources and create several sets of earnings data. Current earnings are adjusted for extraordinary items, cumulative accounting changes, major restructuring and the sale of discontinued operations. Operating earnings go beyond the current earnings to adjust for unusual revenue and expense items such as one time reserve provisions, litigation settlements and pension fund terminations, giving a clearer picture of operating results. Standard fundamental data from quarterly and annual SEC filings and reports are collected promptly, converted to financial ratios, and used to create proprietary variables and models.
